Description

This FREE, 4-week online course offers 7.75 CME/CE credits. The goal of the course is to educate primary care and community mental health providers about the skills required in Motivational Interviewing (MI) and why MI is important when treating Service Members, Veterans and Military Families.

The course has three overall learning objectives:

  • Describe the conversation and spirit of Motivational Interviewing
  • List the four fundamental processes in Motivational Interviewing
  • Identify the guiding principles of eliciting change

The purpose of the course is to help primary care and community mental health providers translate knowledge into enhanced clinical practice that provides better outcomes for veterans and military family members. The course includes video role plays to illustrate teaching points and interaction with faculty each week to address clinical questions and discuss course materials via a discussion board. Course content is 100% mobile-friendly and completely on-demand, so you can participate whenever your schedule allows.
