The Psychiatry Academy staff includes experts in educational design and dissemination, data collection, analysis, and outcomes reporting. This creates a culture and commitment that is driven and constantly informed by research. Since 2008, our team has presented 30+ posters and authored 20+ academic publications.

Our Knowledge Translation and Outcomes team brings the academic rigor of a world-class hospital and medical school to the assessment of educational activities. The team consistsof experts in educational design, biostatistics, and psychometric measurement, and full- time research staff focus on development and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data. In addition to measuring the education impact of our programs, this group studies the underlying pedagogic mechanisms of learning and the development of novel learning formats, such as web-based simulation, mobile apps, and interactive learning modules.

In addition to extensive research on education for health care professionals, we also have notable experience in research on public education health projects. We have research projects currently under review on the topics of caregiver burden and shared decision-making, and are part of a major research grant to develop an innovative mobile app that measures the rate of accessing care and/or resources among veterans and family members impacted by psychological wounds of war.
