Karen Adler, MD, is a psychiatrist in private practice in Lexington, Massachusetts specializing in the treatment of borderline personality disorder and trauma-related disorders, providing medication management, individual, family and group therapy. Dr. Adler has previously worked as a psychiatrist and therapist in both the McLean Gunderson program, which specializes in the multimodal treatment of borderline personality disorder, and the McLean Hill Center for Women, a residential treatment facility for women with mood, personality and trauma-related disorders. Dr. Adler has a special interest in supporting health care providers outside of the mental health field on managing patients in their practice who also suffer from mental illness, and has given talks on managing borderline personality disorder in a primary care or general medical setting at several hospitals in the Boston Metro area.
