Dr. Beach is an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School and an attending psychiatrist on the Acute Psychiatric and Psychiatric Consultation Services at Massachusetts General Hospital. He also directs the Infectious Disease Psychiatry Consultation Service in the Division of Psychiatry and Medicine at MGH.
Dr. Beach earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from University of Virginia, where he also completed his psychiatry residency, prior to a fellowship in Psychosomatic Medicine at MGH. His primary clinical interests include catatonia, cardiac psychiatry, HIV psychiatry and deception syndromes. He is a member of the MGH Cardiac Psychiatry Research Group, focusing on the effects of psychotropic medications on the QT interval and collaborative and blended-care models for delivering psychiatric treatment to patients with cardiac illness. Dr. Beach is also the Associate Program Director for the MGH/McLean Adult Psychiatry Residency and has won multiple awards for his teaching of medical students and residents.
