Wheeler, Amy, MD

Revere Clinic Adult Medicine Unit Chief and Co-Director CORE Health (Center for Organized Research and Education for Health)

Biography

Dr. Amy Wheeler completed a Primary Care Residency at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) in 1999 and a Fellowship at Partners Center for Connected Health in 2017.  She is board certified both in Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine.  She has been a primary care physician for 21 years, has served as Adult Medicine Unit Chief at the MGH Revere Clinic since 2006, has held a position on the Massachusetts General Hospital Primacy Care Team Leaders Council since 2008, is a member of the MGH EPIC Advisory Council, and leads an MGH Revere Clinic Process Improvement Group whose efforts are aimed at reducing staff workload.  She also has a strong interest in weight loss medicine and has been Co-Director of CORE Health (Center for Organized Research and Education for Health– a patient-defined center for healthy lifestyles group visits for patients) since 2012, is a member of the MGH Healthy Lifestyles Primary Care Program, and is a Co-Investigator on REAL HEALTH – Diabetes (a study examining healthy lifestyle group interventions on diabetic patient medication use and outcomes).
