Biography

Kyle Williams, M.D. is the Director of the Pediatric Neuropsychiatry and Immunology Program in the OCD and Related Disorders Program at Massachusetts General Hospital, and Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Williams received his M.D. from the University of Minnesota Medical School, and completed training in Adult and Child Psychiatry at the Yale Child Study Center as part of the Solnit Integrated Program in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.


Dr. Williams’s primary clinical and research interests involve the intersection of the brain and the immune system, and in particular, the psychiatric and behavioral consequences of these interactions. He has published peer reviewed articles and book chapters on Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder Associated with Streptococcal infections (PANDAS), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Tourette syndrome (TS) and received grant support from the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) the International Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Foundation, and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI). Dr. Williams is currently a co-investigator on a multisite NIMH-funded grant assessing the efficacy of Intravenous Immunoglobulin (IVIG) in the treatment of PANDAS, and is continuing work on investigating the neuronal targets of autoimmune cells in the serum of children with PANDAS and Sydenham’s Chorea.
