Course Details

Insomnia is a condition that millions of individuals suffer from at some point in their lifetimes and is associated with many high-mortality medical illnesses. It's also a condition that is commonly evaluated and treated by a variety of health care professionals across all practice settings, from private practices to inpatient units to schools and corporate health centers.

This information-rich online course focuses on using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other behavioral interventions as the primary components of an effective treatment strategy for patients suffering from insomnia. Expert faculty focus on assessment methods for sleep disorders, differential diagnosis of insomnia, new behavioral and relaxation techniques, critical considerations in patient use of over-the-counter sleep remedies, and best practices for goal setting, treatment structure, and technique implementation.

A variety of resources and content in the course provide an in-depth review of the short- and long-term efficacy of CBT as an effective treatment for insomnia. Several role-play videos address clinical challenges often faced by health care providers and highlight appropriate technique implementation. An interactive discussion board enhances didactic learning and allows you to submit clinical questions and participate in an ongoing dialogue with course faculty and peers from across the globe. Plus, the flexible course schedule lets you participate whenever your busy schedule allows.
